Sea Bulk Ship Loading Solutions

Ship loaders and unloaders for various kinds of bulk goods can either be of the stationary or the mobile type.
The range is ideal for harbour development for underdeveloped areas and includes telescopic boom slewing shiploaders; self unloading and loading barges; and offshore capsize shiploading systems. The full service covers in-house civils, hydraulic and ship engineering and a BOO capability is offered.

Plough Feeders

The tough and reliable Bateman Plough Feeders handle all kinds of stockpiled bulk materials, abrasive, sticky or dry. This includes aggregate, limestone, clinker, quarry stone, kimberlite, overburden, and quartzite, iron, copper, gold, uranium, asbestos, and phosphate ores. The material is drawn through a slot onto a conveyor running beneath the stockpile, long storage bin or silo. Capacities range from less than 50 t/h up to 1 000 t/h for a single feeder. Lump sizes up to 300 mm can be handled.

Covered Stockpiles

Power plants, mines, cement plants, ports and many other industries need to stock large quantities of dry bulk materials. Most such stockpiles were traditionally left uncovered, or stored in vertical silos. But open stockpiles produce dust and contaminated runoff, and silos are small and expensive. Due to increasing environmental concerns, many organizations desiring covered storage have looked for and found a cost effective way to solve their problem: Geometrica’s geodesic domes.

Overland & In-Plant Conveyors

Bateman’s range of conveyors can handle any in-plant, overland or stockyard conveying need. The overland and long curved-overland belt conveyors include curved, regenerative downhill and highlift troughed belt-conveyor systems. The straight and curved-overland conveyors: convey to over 11 000 t/h. The design is based on ISO and CEMA while taking suppliers and conditions into account.

Spreader Systems

Bateman proprietary spreader systems were developed to suit local conditions and requirements. The extendable conveyor with tripper and spreader is a self advancing system with limited travel. This system is used to form a finger type linear dump. When it reaches the full length of the extendable conveyor, it is relocated to either extend the dump further or start a parallel dump. The shiftable system forms a dump by depositing material along the width. The spreader travels on rails that straddles the conveyor. When a level is formed along the length of the conveyor, the whole system is shifted forward by the length of the boom.
