Senior Executive Appointments
Bateman Engineering N.V. is pleased to announce the following appointments to its senior executive team: Tom Fraser as Chief Business Development Officer, and Mike Benfield as Chief Financial Officer.
APPOINTMENT: TOM FRASER, CHIEF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Tom Fraser has been appointed Chief Business Development Officer, responsible for leading and co-ordinating the strategic business development initiatives throughout the Bateman Engineering Group.
Tom joins Bateman Engineering from the international, JSE listed engineering and contracting group, Murray & Roberts Limited, where he was Group Brand Executive and played a major role in the branding process as a critical component of rebuilding Murray & Roberts (including some 30 operating companies internationally) to the high performing company it is today.
A well respected figure in the industry, Tom has more than 27 years strategic marketing and brand management experience in the industrial manufacturing and engineering contracting environments, locally and internationally.
Tom is a past lecturer at the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (GSB) and is a Cum Laude graduate of the two year Unisa (GSB) Advanced Executive Program (AEP).
APPOINTMENT: MIKE BENFIELD, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, BATEMAN ENGINEERING
Mike Benfield has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Bateman Engineering Group, effective from May 1, 2010.
Mike joined Bateman Engineering in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer of the Group’s Mineral Recovery division. He previously held positions that included Chief Financial Officer of Norse Air, where he facilitated its listing on AIM, and Finance Executive for Ster Kinekor, where he was involved in developing and implementing strategies around new business initiatives.
Mike has B.Com and B.Acc degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a registered CA (SA).
Bateman Engineering's Executive Chairman, John Ferreira, commented:
