Bateman Engineering tackles any coal processing and beneficiation assignment from run-of-mine receiving to product coal load-out, with optimisation of coal recovery at least possible cost. This capability has been established during many projects and by acquisition of key licence agreements.

- Process Design Services identifies potential processing routes to optimise yields of marketable products from the coal resource, eg raw coal washability data can be processed to confidently predict product yields and plant capital and operating costs.
- Coal-beneficiation plants for coarse, medium and fine coals – permanant and modular plants, retrofits, refits and audits - from 60 to 2,000 t/h. Modular units are easy to transport, move and re-erect.
- Feed preparation to read - jaw, gyratory and cone crushers, Bradford Breakers, rotary breakers, roll crushers.
- Density-separation technologies - dense-media separation (DMS), gravity-separation jigs, spirals and hindered bed separation.
- Flotation - in tanks, columns and cells. The Delkor round tank BQR flotation cells offer unique advantages for roughing, scavenging, cleaning and re-cleaning, unit and pilot cell applications.
- Materials handling – systems to convey, stack, reclaim, crush, grind, screen ROM coal and handle product and tailings.
- Environmental Advisory Services - all coal processing facilities are environmentally friendly with minimal environmental impact.
- Dust-control systems - bag filters, scrubbers and cartridge filters and the Bateman-Elex Electrostatic Precipitator.
- Ash-classification systems - for high-quality pulverised fuel ash (PFA).
- Emission monitoring and control – to ensure minimal impact on the area surrounding the processing plant.
- Solid-waste material – retained in secure tailings-storage areas.
